Biography

Éric BROUSSEAU, is a professor at Paris-Dauphine University, PSL Research University and member of the UMR CNRS Dauphine Recherche en Management. He heads the Governance and Regulation Chair of the Paris-Dauphine Foundation and leads the associated Regulators' Club. He also collaborates with the European University Institute of Florence.

His research focuses on economic governance and market regulation. He is interested in the way in which the strategies of actors influence the organisation and evolution of the institutions governing economic activities; hence his in-depth work on regulation in various contemporary or historical, national or transnational contexts, as well as on the interactions between self-regulation and public regulation.

He has published nearly 100 scientific articles and has edited some 15 books, including, most recently, The Manufacturing of Markets; legal, political and economic dynamics (Cambridge University Press, 2014). He has also conducted research for the French government, the European Commission, the US NSF, the United Nations, and the OECD.

He is the director of the Dauphine Doctoral School. He is one of the creators of the Master Industries of Networks and Digital Economy (IREN), a joint project between Dauphine, Polytechnique, Supélec, TélécomParisTech and the University of Paris-Sud. He is also in charge of the Master in Telecom and Media Management (226). In 2002, he founded the Institutional and Organizational Economics Academy (IOEA), and chaired the Society for Institutional and Organizational Economics (2013-2014). He is also an honorary member of the Institut Universitaire de France.
